The Security Service of Ukraine abolished the uncontrolled international communication channel, which was used by terrorists, and blocked the illegal operation of telecommunications software and hardware complex working in Dnepropetrovsk.

This was reported by the press center of the SSU.

As noted, the attacker via the Internet using VoIP to bypass international switching centers received international telephone traffic coming from Russia. He then was processed with the specialized hardware-software telecommunications complex  under the guise of local telephone calls and was directed to the networks of Ukrainian mobile operators.

“The phone numbers involved in the routing traffic were used by the “DPR / LPR” terrorists in the temporarily occupied territories to communicate with their Russian “curators”, – the Security Service explained.

During a search, Security Service seized computers, wireless modems, more than 200 cards of mobile operators of Ukraine and bank cards of domestic and foreign banks.

A pretrial investigation is now taking place within the criminal proceedings initiated under Part. 2 of Art. 361 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
