This was reported on the website of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation.
Earlier, after the annexation of the Crimean peninsula, Russia has declared Sentsov and Kolchenko to be citizens of the Russian Federation as they “have not submitted an official refusal from Russian citizenship” within the terms established.
At the same time, Ella Pamfilova, the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia insists that, according to Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, Sentsov and Kolchenko still remain citizens of Ukraine regardless of whether they have Russian citizenship.
“The fact that Sentsov and Kolchenko have Ukrainian citizenship has been proved and no longer arouses any doubts”, the message states.
As previously reported, Ella Pamfilova has stated that Oleg Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko are citizens of Ukraine.
As it is known, Sentsov and Kolchenko have been sentenced to 20 and 10 years in prison respectively.
