“The Tripartite contact group considers it necessary to reach a lasting ceasefire along the contact line as a practical step in ensuring that Minsk agreements are fulfilled”, – said Sajdik on Wednesday, 26 August, after a meeting of the Trilateral contact group in Minsk.
“The parties have agreed to monitor the implementation of this initiative together together on 1 September,” – said Sajdik.
On Wednesday, 26 August, the Tripartite contact group held its consultations in Minsk to resolve the situation in Donbas.
Prior to the meeting the representatives of the four working groups – on security, economic, political and humanitarian issues – had held their meetings.
According to Sajdik, the next meeting of the Trilateral contact group is to take place on 8 September.
Despite the regular agreements on ceasefire tonight the situation in the East of Ukraine escalated once again.
